New RXBAR platform 'changing the
way protein bars come to market'
CHICAGO - Kellogg Co.'s RXBAR
business is launching RXBAR Select, a
new platform that includes a collection of
unique flavors made in a limited quantity
and for a limited time.
Each year, the company creates and
tests hundreds of flavor combinations in
the RXBAR kitchen, but only one or two
reach the market. RXBAR Select allows
consumers to experience the recipes that
did not receive a wide release.
"With RXBAR Select, we're changing
the way protein bars come to market,"
said Jim Murray, president of RXBAR.
"Our unique approach to innovation,

leveraging influencer partners and small
batch runs, allows us to accelerate good
ideas and bring them to market
- fast - while also pushing the
boundaries of what simple good
protein bars can be. These limited-edition flavor combinations
might be your thing, or they
might not be. But ultimately, the
choice is yours."
To develop some of the flavor
selections, RXBAR is teaming up
with various influencers. The
first flavor available is the Hot Chocolate
RXBAR Select, created in collaboration

with CrossFit Games athlete Cole Sager.
The bars are made with cocoa, chocolate,
egg whites, dates and nuts.
"RXBARs have always been one of my
favorite ways to start a training session
because of their great taste and simple,
whole food ingredients," Mr. Sager said. "Combine that with my
favorite childhood flavor - hot
chocolate - and you have a better-for-you way to indulge that I
know fans will love."
RXBAR plans to launch two
limited-edition flavors per quarter, including the Peanut Butter
Banana RXBAR Select, which is

plant-based snack products

Post Consumer Brands introduces
new 'Magic' Fruity Pebbles cereal

PARSIPPANY, N.J. - Back to Nature announced a move to
plant-based snacking, shifting away from using any animal
products in its products, excluding honey. The company also
has redesigned its logo and packaging for all products. These
rebranding decisions are in celebration of its 60th anniversary.
"The demand for better-for-you snacks has never been greater, and to keep up with consumer
eating trends, we're excited to announce that the
Back to Nature brand's entire snack assortment
will be plant-based," said Jordan Greenberg, executive vice-president and chief commercial officer
of B&G Foods. "Nature is more than just a word
in our brand's name - it's a core pillar of our
business and a true passion of our team. For that

and will continue to partner with The Nature Conservancy on
its Plant a Billion Trees program, and we'll be planting nearly

In line with its rebranding, Back to Nature will launch new
products this year, including Whole Lotta Love Hemp Seed
Crackers, Cheddalicious Cheese Flavored Crackers, Roasted
Garlic and Basil Crackers, and Whole Lotta Seeds Cracker. MBN

LAKEVILLE, MINN. - Post Consumer Brands announced the
release of its new Magic Fruity Pebbles cereal in anticipation of
National Cereal Day on March 7. The "magic" bright pink cereal
is so named for its ability to turn milk blue upon mixing with
the product. The limited-edition product is inspired by the
Flintstones' pink dinosaur Dino and is gluten-free.
"The Pebbles brand is always looking for new
ways to spark imagination in kids and kids at
heart," said Amy Brothers, brand manager for Pebbles. "We're excited to put a magical twist on our
classic vibrant colors while staying true to the delicious fruity taste that fans love."
Pebbles cereal was the first brand created around
a cartoon or media character, having secured licensing rights for "The Flintstones" from HannaBarbera. The original Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles, both of
which remain in production and available for purchase around
the country, were launched in 1971. Other Pebbles brands currently available include IceBerry Pebbles launched in 2006,
Ice Cream Pebbles launched in 2015, and Cinnamon Pebbles
launched in 2016. Discontinued Pebbles flavors include Dino

is building out its portfolio of portable
breakfast offerings with new Thomas'
Pick Me Ups soft-baked oatmeal squares
and Thomas' Mini Croissants.
Thomas' Pick Me Ups are bite-size,
soft-baked oatmeal squares made with
ingredients such as rolled oats, chocolate chips, pumpkin seeds, sunflower
seeds and cranberries. Available in
trail mix and chocolate chip varieties,
the oatmeal squares contain 13 to 14
grams of whole grains, 6 grams of fiber
and 150 calories per pouch.
