KKR poised to acquire Arnott's
from Campbell Soup Co.
CAMDEN, N.J. - KKR & Co., Inc., the
New York-based private equity business,
has emerged as the victorious bidder for remaining assets in the International division
of Campbell Soup Co., according to a July 24
report in The Australian Financial Review.
In an auction, KKR beat out another
private equity group, Pacific Equity Partners, Sydney, Australia, The Financial Review said.
Included in the International division
are the Arnott's biscuits business in Australia and Asia Pacific, the simple meals

and shelf-stable beverages business in
Australia and Asia Pacific, and the business in Latin America.
Arnott's sells cookies and
crackers under Arnott's and
TimTam brands. The company
has plants in Australia, New
Zealand and Singapore.
The Financial Review said KKR
will pay $2.2 billion for the businesses it will acquire.
In 2018, Campbell Soup generated a total of $622 million in

CANTON, MASS. - Dunkin' Brands
Group, Inc. has partnered with Beyond
Meat to bring a new breakfast option to the
table: the Beyond Sausage breakfast sandwich. The sandwich is part of the company's
commitment to offer consumers "a wide
range of menu choices to fit their individual
lifestyle needs," Dunkin' said. The sandwich
is available at participating Dunkin' restaurants in Manhattan in New York with plans
for a future national roll-out.
The Beyond Sausage breakfast sandwich features a plant-based patty made
with peas, mung beans, rice, sunflower
oil and coconut oil plus a mix of spices
crafted specifically for Dunkin', the chain
said. Served on an English muffin with
egg and American cheese, the offering
provides 10 grams of plant-based protein.

Cargill commits to 30% greenhouse
gas reduction in beef supply chain
WAYZATA, MINN. - Cargill has
launched BeefUp Sustainability, an initiative to reduce greenhouse gas intensity
by 30% across its North American beef
supply chain by 2030. The initiative will
focus on four areas: grazing management, feed production, innovation and
food waste reduction.
The initiative will have a 2017 baseline
measured on a per-lb-of-product basis. A
30% reduction would equate to removing 2
million cars from U.S. highways for a year,
according to Minneapolis-based Cargill.

restaurant chains to add Beyond Meat's
plant-based products to the menu. Earlier

burritos featuring the company's meatmimicking plant protein crumbles. In
January, Carl's Jr. launched its iteration
of the Beyond Burger. Other restaurants
that serve the Beyond Burger include TGI
Fridays, BurgerFi, A&W and Twin Peaks.

35% more efficient from a greenhouse
gas perspective than the global average.
Cargill also pointed out U.S. farmers and
ranchers produce 18% of the world's beef
